Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Associate to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of legal experience, preferably in the IT industry. The Senior Legal Associate will be responsible for providing legal advice and support on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and managing legal risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Management:
Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, including software licenses, service agreements, NDAs, partnership agreements, and other legal documents.
Ensure all contracts comply with company policies and relevant laws and regulations.
Regulatory Compliance:
Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Advise on data privacy and protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and assist in implementing compliance programs.
Litigation and Dispute Resolution:
Manage and resolve disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation.
Liaise with external counsel and manage litigation strategy and costs.
Corporate Governance:
Assist in corporate governance matters, including drafting board resolutions, minutes, and other corporate documents.
Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
Intellectual Property:
Manage and protect the company’s intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
Advise on IP-related matters and handle IP disputes.
Risk Management:
Identify and assess legal risks and provide proactive solutions to mitigate those risks.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to manage legal risks.
Advisory Role:
Provide legal advice to various departments within the company, including HR, finance, and operations.
Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant legal developments affecting the IT industry.
Training and Development:
Conduct training sessions for employees on legal and compliance topics.
Mentor and guide junior legal associates and paralegals.
Qualifications:
Equivalent law degree from an accredited institution.
4-5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in the IT sector.
Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate law, intellectual property law, and data privacy regulations.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with international contracts and cross-border transactions.
Familiarity with emerging technologies and legal issues related to cloud computing, AI, and cybersecurity.
Certification in data privacy laws (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPP/E).
