About Our Client
Our client is a leading commodity trading firms in Asia. As part of their expansion strategy, they is now a newly created role for a Legal Counsel to participate in their growth internationally.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Group General Counsel, you will provide strategic legal advice to the business, supporting the business to drive stronger commercial growth whilst mitigating risks to the business. You will be responsible for drafting, review and negotiations of trading contracts and refining regional compliance policies. You will also advise on any potential and existing dispute matters and corporate transactions, i.e. setting up new entities, investments and cross-border merger & acquisitions.
Requirements
You are a common law qualified lawyer with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience. Prior in-house experience in the commodity trading space will be advantageous. You are independent, adaptable, agile, energetic and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You have strong Mandarin abilities that will be essential for partnering with stakeholders in the North Asia region.
