Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Manager/Sr. Manager/Head to oversee our legal operations. This position requires a dynamic individual who can manage complex legal issues, provide sound legal advice, and ensure compliance with existing laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the legal department, advising on various legal matters, and liaising with external legal counsel when necessary.
Job Responsibilities:
• Provide expert legal counsel on corporate, commercial, labor, and regulatory matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes.
• Manage legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Lead and mentor the legal team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Oversee dispute resolution, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation processes.
• Collaborate with various internal departments to provide legal support and guidance on business initiatives.
• Manage relationships with external legal firms and consultants when required.
• Prepare and present legal reports to senior management and the board as necessary.
Essential Qualifications:
• LLB degree from a recognized university; higher qualifications (LLM or equivalent) will be an advantage.
• Membership in the Bar Association and the ability to practice law in India.
• Strong understanding of corporate laws, commercial contracts, and compliance regulations.
Desired Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in legal practice, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Proven experience in handling complex legal issues for corporate clients.
• Experience in leading and managing a legal team, demonstrating effective leadership and communication skills.
