Position: Legal Head (VP Level)

- We are hiring for a large generic Pharma company based at Mumbai
Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to head the legal function and serve as a strategic advisor to the senior leadership. This role requires deep legal expertise, a business-first mindset, and strong command over legal matters across trademarks, litigation, contracts (domestic and international), and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will currently be heading the legal function in a large pharmaceutical organization.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the legal department, overseeing all legal, regulatory, and compliance functions .
• Manage and strategize litigation and dispute resolution across civil, commercial, and regulatory domains.
• Handle the full lifecycle of trademark management , including filings, oppositions, and enforcement.
• Draft, negotiate, and review complex commercial contracts , including licensing, supply, distribution, and global business agreements.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with domestic and international pharma laws and guidelines.
• Advise senior management and board members on legal risk, governance, and business transactions .
• Oversee external counsels and strengthen in-house legal capabilities.
Candidate Profile
• Qualification : LL.B. (mandatory); LL.M.
• Experience : 15–20+ years in legal roles, with at least 5 years as the head of legal
• Industry Background :
Must be from a pharmaceutical company with INR 10,000 Cr+ turnover
• Strong expertise in litigation, contract law and trademarks.
• Exposure to international legal and regulatory frameworks is essential
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills

1.Data extraction from Scan documents in Servo Streams, MCA site (Ministry of
Corporate Affairs) for issuance of 13 (2) notices & IBC notices ( facility details,
property description, addresses of Borrowers / Guarantors etc)
2.Updating Review sheet Regularly
3.Updating LLMS Regularly
4.Preparing Data Sheets required for submitting to Rating Agency
5.Preparing monthly Data Sheets / MIS to be submitted to ED & CEO
6.Maintaining OTS Data Sheet, ensuring for issuance of NDC & closing of account,
handing over of original documents.
7.Drafting of mails, Replies to Advocates, Officers etc
8.Work of calling of untouched cases and for legal work
A bit experienced candidate will also be required to do following:
1.Maintaining Followup Sheet of on going matters in Court
2.Vetting of drafts received from Officers and Advocates of OA, CMM Applications,
Appeals etc.
3.Drafting Letters and mails of followup to Assignors, Officers etc.
4.Preparing 13 (2) Notices, Preparing Replies to Objections received to 13 (2) Notices
5.Drafting Preparing PPTs as and when required
