IMMIGRATION LEGAL ASSISTANT (EXPERIENCED)

The Law Office of Fernando Alvarez is seeking an experienced Immigration Legal Assistant with recent, verifiable, and proven experience in immigration law. This is a full-time, in-office position for a qualified professional who can handle cases with accuracy, responsibility, and efficiency.
LOCATION & SCHEDULE
Office located in the 77081 area (Houston, TX)
Full-time position – 40 hours per week
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare and file immigration applications and petitions with USCIS
• Accurately complete and review all required immigration forms
• Manage cases through USCIS and NVC processes
• Prepare motions and filings for Immigration Court
• Handle cases involving detained individuals
• Maintain and update case files using immigration software (Cerenade or similar)
• Communicate effectively with clients in English and Spanish
• Track deadlines and ensure timely filings
• Work closely with the attorney on case preparation
NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS
• Recent and verifiable experience as an Immigration Legal Assistant is REQUIRED
• Strong, working knowledge of USCIS forms and procedures
• Experience with NVC case processing
• Experience preparing motions for Immigration Court
• Experience handling detained cases
• Experience using immigration software (Cerenade preferred)
• Bilingual (English and Spanish)
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Responsible, reliable, and professionally stable
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• Verifiable professional references (will be checked)
