About Us

Founded in 1872 as the first college of the University of Melbourne, Trinity College is a vibrant, diverse community, inspiring and enabling students of exceptional promise from Australia and around the world in its various educational programs, including a Residential College, a Theological School and a Pathways School. The College has a diverse student body from a wide range of socioeconomic, geographical and cultural backgrounds. This has created a vibrant and supportive learning community.

The College is committed to the safety of all children, and to providing a culturally safe and inclusive environment for those from diverse backgrounds.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting a high-quality library service at Trinity College. As a Library Assistant, you will help ensure the library remains a welcoming, efficient, and well-resourced environment that supports the diverse academic and research needs of the Trinity College community.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include assisting with circulation, maintaining the library collection, supporting engagement initiatives, and supervising the library during the critical end-of-day period, including managing closing procedures. You will be joining a team that is passionate about fostering creativity, intellectual curiosity, and lifelong learning.

About You

You’re a motivated and reliable team player with a strong sense of initiative and a genuine interest in supporting students and academic staff. You bring excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially in culturally diverse settings, and are confident communicating both in writing and in person.

With solid time management and problem-solving abilities, you can juggle competing priorities and work well both independently and collaboratively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general digital literacy is essential, and while previous experience in libraries or education is highly valued, a passion for learning and an interest in library services will set you apart.

Contract Type: Part time fixed term role (25 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday 1-6pm). Starting 1 July for six months.

Salary: Band 1 - FTE $62,654 plus 11.5% Superannuation and 17.5% Leave Loading.

Benefits: Trinity College offers a warm, collegiate and flexible work environment for all staff and a range of benefits including:
