Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work closely with licensed physical therapists to implement treatment plans for patients across various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and home health. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care, promoting rehabilitation, and enhancing the overall well-being of individuals recovering from injuries or surgeries.

Duties

Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments.
Provide direct patient care, including administering therapeutic exercises and modalities.
Utilize trigger point therapy techniques to alleviate pain and improve mobility.
Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising physical therapist.
Educate patients and their families on care plans, exercises, and home health strategies.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes using medical terminology.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Participate in discharge planning to facilitate smooth transitions for patients returning home or moving to other facilities.
Engage with patients in various settings, including acute care, orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and outpatient clinics.
Qualifications

Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting or a related field from an accredited program.
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to physical therapy practices.
Experience in skilled nursing facilities or acute care settings preferred.
Familiarity with discharge planning processes and care plan development.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Ability to demonstrate empathy and patience while working with diverse patient populations.
Certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is required; state licensure must be current.
