The Lighthouse Keeper will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the lighthouse, ensuring its continuous operation to support maritime and navigational safety. This role demands vigilance, technical skill, and a strong sense of responsibility, as the lighthouse is a critical point of reference for safe movement in the area.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and operate lighthouse systems (lighting, signal, communication)
Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance
Monitor weather and visibility conditions, reporting as needed
Ensure emergency equipment is functional and accessible
Keep accurate logs and maintenance records
Support emergency response coordination when required
Qualifications:
Prior experience in lighthouse maintenance or similar technical role preferred
Basic electrical and mechanical repair skills
Strong attention to detail and sense of responsibility
Physically fit and capable of working in isolated conditions
Familiarity with maritime safety standards is an advantage
