Overview:
Nelson Mullins law firm is looking to add a Commercial Litigation Associate to its team in the Downtown Los Angeles office. This is a unique opportunity to join an expanding practice that offers a range of litigation services to clients in a variety of industries.
A Day in the Life:
The Downtown Los Angeles office of Nelson Mullins is in the historic Bunker Hill neighborhood, within walking distance of Los Angeles County’s busiest state, federal, appellate, and complex courthouses. Debuting in August 2026, the office quickly distinguished itself by obtaining a series of successful results in complex litigation matters and establishing a preeminent trial practice.
Our attorneys have decades of experience in high value business/commercial litigation, complex litigation, products liability, consumer class actions, toxic torts, privacy, false advertising, greenwashing, and general negligence/premises liability. Serving as national, regional, and trial counsel to a host of Fortune 200 companies, including global entities, in a wide range of industries, Nelson Mullins’ Downtown Los Angeles attorneys have a proven track record of detail-driven case work-up, creative client counseling and defense verdicts in jurisdictions across the country. Our attorneys have applied that same level of persistence and tenacity to ensuring that Nelson Mullins’ Downtown location reflects the diversity of Los Angeles and its pro-bono efforts in the areas of civil rights and impact litigation.

We Know You:
You have at least four years of meaningful experience in complex commercial litigation matters in a mid-size or large law firm setting. You’re prepared to draft and argue discovery motions, dispositive motions, and/or class certification motions. You're prepared to take and defend depositions, assist in both jury trials and bench trials, and you bring an entrepreneurial spirit to a growing office. You possess exceptional oral and written advocacy skills with strong academic credentials. You are adept in case management, ready to take the lead, and are admitted to and in good standing with the California Bar.
At Nelson Mullins, we are dedicated to transparent and fair compensation practices. Pay for this position is determined by factors such as experience, skills, and location.
In Los Angeles, the salary/wage range is $220,000 - $330,000 annually. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for performance bonuses and benefits such as healthcare, retirement plans, and paid time off.
