Job description
About the internship:
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Drafting litigation and non-litigation documents under guidance

2. Visiting various courts of civil and criminal jurisdiction (including district, session, high court, consumer forums, and local cooperative courts within Maharashtra) to pursue applications and case filings

3. Visiting the jails of Navi Mumbai and Mumbai for vakalatnama signing and meetings with the accused

4. Visiting the property registrar's office, Tashildar, Talathi, and land record of 7/12 within Maharashtra as needed

5. Working and dealing with civil, criminal, and matrimonial cases, cheque bouncing cases, and corporate finance matters; specializing in MOCOA, POSCO, NDPS cases, and IPC sections 302, 37+, 380, along with applications for heirship and any declaration litigation as an independent advocate office

Stipend:
INR ₹ 3,000 - 3,500 /month

About the Role

• This is an exciting opportunity for a Junior Advocate to join our team in litigation.
• We are seeking a law graduate with 0-2 years of experience who can handle a wide range of matters at the Bombay High Court, including redevelopment disputes and arbitrations.
• As a Junior Advocate, you will be responsible for attending client meetings, taking instructions, and studying documents supplied by the client.
• You will also appear and assist in matters before the Bombay High Court, City Civil Court, and Consumer Fora.
• Other key responsibilities include studying existing matters, preparing short notes, reading and analyzing legal provisions, and drafting pleadings for court matters.
• Briefing and assisting the arguing counsel before and during matters, coordinating with interns and clerks, and communicating with clients are also essential duties of this role.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A law graduate with 0-2 years of experience in litigation is required for this position.
• Excellent communication skills and a good command over language are essential.
• Prior experience of legal research and/or court drafting would be an added advantage.

• Long working hours may be expected on most days.
