Sr. Counsel, Employment Litigation Job Description
This position serves as employment litigation counsel for US Foods, actively managing employment litigation matters for a growing, complex public company. The Sr. Counsel, Employment Litigation will manage and oversee outside counsel on litigation matters, personally handle attorney demand letters and federal, state and local agency charges with minimal oversight, and directly work with internal and external clients to assess litigation risk and determine strategies for mitigating those risks (both proactively and within the context of litigation).
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Associate General Counsel, Employment & Compliance on employment litigation matters and significant pre-litigation claims.
• Represent the Company in responding to demand letters and federal, state and local agency charges with minimal oversight.
• Manage and oversee outside counsel on employment litigation matters and proactively drive litigation strategy on these matters.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of three to six years of experience focused on employment litigation.
• Prior in-house counsel experience is preferred.
• Admission to and in good standing with a U.S. state bar association.
