Job Title: Locum Legal Services Manager & Deputy Monitoring Officer Working Pattern: 3 to 4 days per week, can allow for flexible working and compressed hours Working Arrangement: Hybrid working, office attendance once per week Daily rate: D.O.E. Contract Length: Initial 3-month contract, with potential for extension A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Locum Legal Services Manager & Deputy Monitoring Officer to join a Local Authority. This is a key role where you will help uphold good governance across the council and provide strategic legal support to various departments. Key Responsibilities: Supporting the Monitoring Officer in maintaining high standards of governance, ethics, and transparency within the council. Managing and resolving complaints and working closely with Councillors to address legal queries. Line management of a team Providing expert legal advice on a variety of matters, sound knowledge of Local Government law across directorates is vital Office attendance required once per week Candidate Profile: Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with strong leadership and governance experience. Strong people management skills, with a proven ability to oversee a legal team and work collaboratively with councillors and other stakeholders. Able to work a minimum of 3 days per week and up to 4 days per week This role is ideal for a legal professional looking to step into a leadership position within a dynamic local authority .
