Here at Griffin's Snacks, we proudly produce many legendary, much-loved kiwi brands, including Griffin’s, ETA, Nice & Natural and Huntley and Palmers. Our Wiri plant is home to a wide range of chips, expanded snacks, and bars products – with more on the horizon. As a Machine Operator on our Wiri site you will work across the plants as needed- building a broad range of skills.

We're looking for Machine Operators to join us in fixed term roles which require full availability across all shifts.
Applicants must be able to work both rotating shifts and night shifts as required by the business. Training will be provided on Rotating shifts before our Night shift starts up in July. At that time operators may be moved to Nights.
Rotating Shifts (weekly rotation):
Week One: 5:45am – 2:00pm
Week Two: 1:45pm – 10:00pm
Night Shift:
Monday to Friday 9:45pm – 6:00am, finishing at 6:00am Saturday
These are all fixed term roles for approximately 18 months, Monday to Friday, based at our Wiri plant on Ash Road which operates 24 hours/5 days a week.
In this role you’ll be:
Operating high speed food manufacturing machinery - including machine set up, changeovers, troubleshooting, manual packing and cleaning
Working on snacks/chips/bars food processing lines
Accurately completing and recording quality checks
Using PLC screens, tablets, and other plant technology
Following standard operating procedures to produce quality products everyday
Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and Food Safety
What we’re looking for?
Ideally, we are seeking candidates with a tertiary qualification in Engineering, Operations Management or any Food related fields and/or experience with Vertical Form Fill and Seal (VFFS), Fryers, Enrobers or Snacks/Chips/Bar food processing lines.
Reliability, a strong work ethic and a great team player who is happy to work on a variety of lines Physically fit - you're happy to be in a role that has you on your feet and safely able to lift up to 25kgs
Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
Confidence in using technology (PLC Screens and iPads)
Some mechanical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform under pressure
An interest in how things run and improve; experience in continuous improvement environments or process optimisation is an advantage
Passionate about Health & Safety and Food Safety
Desire to be part of a winning team - working with and helping others to achieve success
