About the Role
This isn’t a standard maintenance job — it’s hands-on, varied, and perfect for someone who loves practical problem‑solving with plenty of autonomy.
You’ll be:
Diagnosing & repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues
Travelling the South Island to service and maintain specialist Parts Washer units
️ Working with pumps, motors, industrial machinery, and custom-built equipment
Handling breakdowns, fault-finding and welding repairs (ticket a bonus)
Keeping accurate service records and job sheets
Maintaining tools, equipment, and ensuring gear is safe and service-ready
Representing WM with professionalism and customer-focused service

Qualifications
Who We’re Looking For
A highly skilled Maintenance Engineer or Mechanical Fitter with:
A relevant mechanical trade qualification
Strong mechanical, electrical & hydraulic fault-finding ability
Experience with pumps or industrial machinery
Welding skills (ticket ideal, but not essential)
Class 1 licence (Class 4 bonus)
Dangerous Goods/hazardous substances experience (advantageous)
Forklift licence or willingness to obtain
A self-driven, solutions-focused mindset
