About the Opportunity
As part of the City Operations Program, the Maintenance Painter plays a hands-on role in maintaining Council’s plant, equipment, buildings, and street and parklands infrastructure. This role contributes to the presentation, safety and longevity of public assets while ensuring all work is delivered in line with WHS, environmental and other statutory requirements.
Working as part of a collaborative team, you will undertake maintenance painting and assist with sign making, daily planning, materials supply and basic administrative tasks. You’ll be expected to work safely and efficiently, following approved practices, industry standards and Council policies, while delivering a high standard of customer service to both internal stakeholders and the community. A cooperative approach and pride in quality workmanship are key to success in this role.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
Certificate III in Painting and Decorating.
Sound practical knowledge of the fundamental nature of maintenance practices, products and techniques.
Knowledge of the safe operation of specialised machinery used in the maintenance industry.
The ability to prioritise work based on risk and availability of resources.
Self-motivated, results oriented and able to initiate actions to ensure objectives are achieved.
Demonstrated high level skills in dealing confidently and courteously with people both internally and externally.
