The Opportunity
An opportunity now exists to join MBS in this continuing role where you will provide accounting support in the financial operations of the School, in particular ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of the School’s budget, annual statutory accounts and to provide the business with reporting and insights on a monthly basis.
Reporting to the Finance and Systems Manager, you will also be responsible for:
Acting as a partner to Department Heads and their teams to assist in ensuring the budgeted financial outcomes of the School are achieved.
Conducting regular monthly meetings with Department Heads to explain financial results, investigate variances and instigate any required corrective actions
Providing high-level written commentary on monthly departmental results against budget to Finance & Systems Manager and CFO
Supporting the Finance & Systems Manager to ensure the School’s finance systems and processes are optimised
Acting as a secondary point of contact for the organisation's financial systems such as (TechnologyOne, STRIPE, and NAB Transact).
Monitoring developments in financial system offerings and provide recommendations for process and control improvements.
About you
As a CA/CPA qualified Accounting professional, you will demonstrate a minimum 3 years full time equivalent work experience gained within a similar role together with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and either experience with TechnologyOne or a similar finance system. Some knowledge of Fringe Benefits Tax and Goods & Services Tax concepts will also be advantageous.
