Manager Accounting

The Role / Responsibilities:
Accounting and other functions
• Actively pursue effective and efficient accounting operation of respective areas and across Moody's while ensuring the efficiency and adherence to accounting controls
• Review monthly accounting entries based on local and Moody's global accounting policies.
• Provide strong leadership within CAO team, collaborate effectively in a dynamically changing environment and maintain strong oversight on accounting activities performed by Moody's BPO partner to ensure deliverables are consistent with Moody's policies and GAAP
• Strong desire to keep up with advancements in technology and innovations
• Provide advice regarding the handling of non-routine accounting transactions.
• Proactively performs ad-hoc account analyses and raises issues on a timely basis.
• Apply accounting judgment when reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, contracts, new accounting pronouncements, account analyses and detailed review with direct manager
• Review and prepare supporting documentation and account analyses for internal and external audits; manages audit relationships and acts as principle point of contact with respect to areas assigned while ensuring efficiency and timeliness.
• Good knowledge on tax matters preparation of corporate advance tax, tax provision, deferred tax, filling of income tax return,TDS calculation and filling of TDS returns, GST etc.
• Responsinle for preparation of financial statements in WorKiva financial reporting tool and independtly handiling statutory and internal audit.
• Responsible for billings between group companies and monthly reconciliation of inter-company balances.
• Ensure timely inter-company settlements.
• Monitoring and reporting of overdue customer account balances.
• GL/vendor/customer ledger scrutiny and reconciliation.
Statutory Filings & other compliances
• Work together with Tax team to ensure all local tax filings (including TDS, Service Tax, etc) are submitted to local Tax Authority before due date.
• Ensure statutory compliance related to TDS/Professional tax/Provident fund deposit, filling of various forms etc.
• Knowledge of fillings related to STPI and SEZ compliances, a plus.
• Post Graduate/ (Accounts & Finance)/CA (Inter) with minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in a corporate environment.
• Good knowledge of India statutory filiings.
• Strong proficiency in MS-Office applications - Excel, Word & Outlook.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to work under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proactive, good Team player and able to provide strong support to manager.
• Fluency in both written and spoken English.
• Proficiency in SAP HANA , Blackline, Power BI and WorKiva, a plus.
