Manager, Legal Services

💰 $11,760 - $18,816 (Est.) 📍 Melbourne City Centre ⏰ Part Time

Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and General Counsel, the Manager, Legal Services leads the Legal Services team to provide authoritative legal advice on complaint, investigation, inspection and monitoring activities in line with our Integrity Response Guidelines. You'll play a lead role in supporting IOV to operate as a budget independent agency, advising on a broad range of corporate and governance obligations. We require a dedicated, highly skilled and well-rounded legal practitioner to lead the Legal Services team and work with IOV's management team to support our multi-disciplinary approach to integrity operations.

IOV is unique in Australia for the depth and breadth of its oversight remit which is regularly expanded. Given our position as the lead oversight body in the Victorian integrity system, the role will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and General Counsel to manage interesting, highly sensitive and complex matters requiring the capacity to address matters through first principles and produce robust legal advice to support outputs which can withstand agency, public and parliamentary scrutiny and lead to both agency and systemic improvements.

The position is fixed term to November 2026. Part time hours (0.8 - 1.0 FTE) can be negotiated. While some working from home can be accommodated, the role does require regular attendance in the office to access secure and sensitive material.
