THE ROLE
Working as part of a small, high-performing team, the Manager, Priority Projects, plays a critical role in the management of staff and coordination of project activity in the Aboriginal Policy and Strategy Unit. Primarily, the Manager, Priority Projects is responsible for the coordination and management of the division's strategic projects, while also being accountable for driving and promoting self-determination in the community services sector to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria.
The Manager, Priority Projects works closely with the Director, Aboriginal Policy and Strategy to assist in the overall management of the unit, ensuring effective coordination of project management activity and deliverables. The Manager, Priority Projects drives identified policy and practice improvements, in collaboration with their team of project officers, to support the division's priorities
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
In partnership with the Victorian Aboriginal community lead the implementation of the Victorian Closing the Gap Implementation Plan Priority Reforms that meeting government and departmental objectives within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
Ensure project implementation is aligned to the Victorian government's Aboriginal agreements and frameworks including the Victorian Aboriginal Affairs Framework, Self Determination Reform Framework, Closing the Gap, Treaty and Yoorrook.
Provide timely, high-quality strategic advice and executive support to the leadership team on a wide range of issues related to the division's business.
