The Opportunity
We have a great opportunity to shape and lead one of Vocus’ most strategically important segments. As General Manager – Carrier Wholesale, you will take full ownership of setting the direction, driving growth, and elevating the performance of our Carrier Wholesale business.
Reporting to the B2B GTM Executive, you will define the segment strategy, govern commercial and operational performance, and build enduring executive level relationships with Australia’s leading carrier partners. You will lead experienced sales and operations leaders, embed strong commercial rigour, and ensure the business is positioned for long term, sustainable growth.
Operating within Vocus’ hybrid working model, this role requires regular engagement with carrier customers and network sites and offers the opportunity to influence outcomes at enterprise scale.

In this role, you will be responsible for:
Develop and execute long term account strategies that address customer needs and identify white space, upsell and cross sell opportunities to drive sustainable growth.
Build and expand relationships with senior stakeholders within carrier and wholesale customer organisations through regular business reviews and value add engagement.
Set and deliver retention and expansion targets, ensuring accurate forecasting and consistent revenue growth across the portfolio.
Govern CRM discipline across accounts and opportunities, ensuring transparency of pipeline, engagement activity and deal status.
Define and deliver the sales strategy and business plan for the carrier wholesale segment, aligning with corporate objectives and market opportunities.
Lead and govern first line sales and operations managers, reviewing aggregated performance and pipeline, and intervening as required to ensure targets are met.
Sponsor and govern key strategic sales initiatives, including new market entry, solution launches and strategic account programs.
Partner closely with senior leaders across Sales, Product, Marketing, Finance and Operations to ensure alignment with roadmaps, campaigns and delivery capability.
What you’ll bring to the role:
To be successful in this role, you will have 10+ years’ proven experience as a multi-team regional Sales leader within a carrier or wholesale environments.
Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of delivering revenue growth and margin outcomes. You will also bring structure, governance and discipline, to drive operational improvement across the team.
Demonstrated expertise in executive level stakeholder and ecosystem leadership, including C suite and government engagement. Ability to represent the business in strategic relationships, and confidence in tough commercial and strategic conversations
Advanced capability in segment strategy, resource allocation, forecasting, governance and escalation management. Strategic thinking about market entry, capabilities, and growth levers, Sponsorship of strategic initiatives (not just BAU execution) and ability to connect strategy to operating model to results.
Proficiency in deal strategy, complex negotiations, contract and pricing governance, and large scale account planning.
Strong track record and experience building high performing leadership teams and the ability and comfort in coaching, challenging, and holding managers accountable.
Bachelor’s degree preferred or MBA highly regarded.
