Job Description
Drop Marine is a growing marine Manufacturing company based in South Slocan, BC. We build rugged workboats and propulsion systems for tough inland environments - and we’re in the middle of defining our next chapter.
We’re looking for a marketing intern who wants more than filler tasks and polished slide decks. You’ll be embedded in the core team, leading a real market research project while also creating content that tells our story. You’ll help us figure out who our customers are, what they care about, and how to reach them and then help us build the campaigns that do it.
What You’ll Do
Market Research (50%)
Lead a field research project with marine operators and industry experts
Plan interviews, gather insights, and synthesize trends
Identify key customer profiles and pain points
Work directly with leadership and engineering to shape messaging and product direction
Marketing & Content Creation (50%)
Create and schedule content for Instagram, Tik Tok, LinkedIn, and Facebook
Capture and edit photo/video from our builds and sea trials (bonus if you know how to use a gimbal)
Design email campaigns and product updates
Help refresh and maintain our website (Webflow or WordPress)
Support internal brand assets: one-pagers, decks, presentations, etc.
Who You Are
Comfortable talking to strangers and asking smart questions
Curious, independent, and naturally strategic
Confident in design tools like Canva, Figma, Adobe Suite, or CapCut
Familiar with short-form video and what performs well online
Capable of managing your own schedule and owning a project from start to finish
Enrolled in a co-op program (Marketing, Business, Communications, or similar)
Bonus Points
Experience working in tech, hardware, or manufacturing
Experience with Webflow, WordPress, or SEO
You’ve done customer research or user interviews before

Our facility is in South Slocan which is just outside of Nelson, BC. It’s a place where people move on purpose. It’s not unusual to hit the ski hill before noon or take a swim in the lake after work. We work hard, but we protect our time outside of it.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
