Position Overview
The Medical Billing Specialist will manage all aspects of the billing process, from claim submission to payment posting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current healthcare regulations. This position requires strong attention to detail, familiarity with family practice services, and a solid understanding of payer policies as well as customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
Submit accurate insurance claims for office visits, preventive care, and in-office procedures
Stay current on changes to billing regulations, coding updates (ICD-10, CPT), and payer requirements
Review and correct claim errors or rejections to ensure timely reimbursement
Post payments, adjustments, and manage patient account balances
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to scheduled appointments
Work denials and appeals with insurance companies
Communicate with patients regarding their balances, billing inquiries, and payment plans
Collaborate with front desk, providers, and clinical staff to ensure accurate charge capture
Assist in month-end reporting and accounts receivable follow-up
Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance in all billing activities
Our current partners - Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, Cigna, BCBS, UHC and Aetna
Qualifications
2+ years of medical billing experience in a “FAMILY MEDICINE” or primary care setting
Working knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and insurance guidelines
Proficiency with billing software and electronic health records (EHR) – experience with DrChrono, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth etc.
Certification (CPC, CPB, or similar) preferred but not required
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical billing practices
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
