( South West Nova Scotia) serves as the primary point of contact between Fish Safe NS and its members in the region, focusing on member and family communication, support, and engagement. The role is crucial for fostering strong relationships and ensuring members and their families feel valued and engaged with the organization's mission and services. Fish Safe NS has a regional office in Tusket with the main office in Halifax.
Key Responsibilities
The specific duties of a regional membership liaison:
Member Communication: Serving as the main "bridge" to provide information about the organization's benefits, services, and initiatives to regional members, and relaying member feedback, concerns, and requests back to the central office.
Support and Education Educating, supporting, and empowering members and families to maximize their use of the organization's products and services, often involving workshops, webinars, or in-person meetings.
Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong, positive relationships with individual members and regional associations to ensure organizational activities align with local needs.
Administration and Reporting: Handling administrative tasks like helping process membership rebate applications, as well as tracking membership engagement statistics and preparing reports for management.
Event Coordination: booking and facilitation of regional events, workshops, and training sessions with staff and government agencies.

Oversee daily operations and deliver top-tier member support
Serve as the primary point of contact for member inquiries and outreach
Help develop our regional family engagement project
Support communications, events, and engagement initiatives
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
Brings exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Has extensive lived experience in the Nova Scotia commercial fishing industry
Can juggle shifting priorities with professionalism—and a sense of humour
Has a strong service mindset and business acumen
Works independently, takes initiative, and collaborates effectively
Assist with data migration and process modernization to improve efficiency and member experience.
Experience in nonprofit association operations (an asset)
Has a reliable vehicle and clean driving record
Qualifications
Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in customer service, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field
Experience creating focus groups and facilitating committees
Familiarity with Fish Safe’s mission and a connection to the fishing community is a definite advantage
Occasional evening and weekend work required to attend events and meetings
Legally entitled to work in Canada
