About Michigan Wellbeing
Michigan Wellbeing is a fully virtual mental health clinic offering accessible, affirming, and integrative care to individuals, couples, and families across the state. We specialize in working with neurodivergent individuals (ADHD, autism, giftedness) and LGBTQIA+ communities, while also supporting clients navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relational concerns, parenting challenges, and life transitions.
We are working to redefine what mental healthcare can look like. Rather than offering surface-level symptom management or one-size-fits-all treatment, we take a deeper, more integrative approach; one that honors the whole person and addresses root causes. Our clinical work draws from psychodynamic and relational therapy, somatic practices, family systems theory, polyvagal theory, mindfulness, and expressive therapies. We believe lasting change happens when we attend not just to thoughts and behaviors, but to the body, the nervous system, and the relational patterns that shape how people move through the world.
Our mission extends beyond client care. We are also committed to supporting the growth and development of our clinicians. We offer ongoing training opportunities, group case consultations, and a learning environment where therapists can deepen their clinical skills, explore new theories and modalities, and develop confidence in their professional identity. Whether you are early in your career or looking to expand your clinical repertoire, we want Michigan Wellbeing to be a place where you can continue growing.
Position Overview
We are seeking licensed therapists in Michigan who already have an established caseload and are looking for a practice that offers strong administrative support, competitive compensation, and a values-aligned clinical environment.
This role is ideal for therapists currently working at a practice that allows them to bring their clients with them, and who are seeking a new professional home with less administrative burden and more focus on clinical work.
Who Can Apply
We are primarily seeking LLMSWs (Limited Licensed Master Social Workers). We have an LMSW on staff who provides weekly clinical supervision for limited licensed social workers.
We can also accept fully licensed clinicians who do not require supervision and can bill insurance under their own license, including LMSWs, LPCs, and LPs. Please note that if you are not already credentialed with our insurance panels (Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Priority Health), it may take several months to complete the credentialing process before you can begin seeing clients through our practice.
What We Offer
Full Administrative Support
We handle all of the backend so you can focus on your clients. This includes:
Insurance credentialing and panel management
Billing and claims submission
Insurance verification
Client scheduling and communication
Access to SimplePractice (EHR, notes, scheduling, video sessions)
We use SimplePractice as our CRM, which integrates with your personal calendar (your private details remain hidden) so that client sessions are scheduled directly based on your true availability, helping avoid conflicts and double-booking. We also create ZocDoc profiles for each clinician, allowing new clients to book directly with you.
Competitive Compensation
LLMSWs: 50/50 split
LMSWs: 60/40 split (60% to you)
LPCs and LPs: Compensation structure discussed during interview
Insurance and self-pay sessions typically reimburse in the range of $120 to $155 per session. With your split, you can generally expect $60 to $75 per session (LLMSW) or $72 to $93 per session (LMSW).
Clinicians are paid after insurance reimbursement or client payment is received. All supervision, administrative services, software, and insurance support are included at no additional cost to you.
Clinical Support
Weekly clinical supervision for limited licensed clinicians (provided by our LMSW supervisor)
Ongoing guidance from the clinic director
Optional trainings and group case consultations throughout the year
A collaborative, supportive team culture
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for therapists who:
Already have a caseload of at least 10 to 20 clients
Are licensed in Michigan (LLMSW, LMSW, LPC, or LP)
Have clients insured primarily through Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, or Priority Health (we do not accept Medicaid, Medicare, or other insurance plans)
Are currently at a practice that is agreeable with you bringing your clients with you
Are committed to neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care
Value warmth, empathy, and genuine connection in their clinical work
Are organized, communicative, and timely with documentation
Insurance We Accept
We are currently paneled with:
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan
Aetna
Priority Health
We do not accept Medicaid, Medicare, or other insurance plans at this time. If most of your current clients are covered by insurers outside of these three, this may not be the right fit.
Your Responsibilities
Providing virtual therapy to your existing clients (and new referrals as they come)
Completing progress notes within 24 hours of sessions
Maintaining current treatment plans and clinical documentation
Attending weekly supervision and integrating feedback (for limited licensed clinicians)
Keeping your calendar availability up to date so we can coordinate scheduling
Participating in team meetings and optional trainings when available
To Apply
We ask that you send us an email rather than applying through Indeed.
Please record a brief, informal video (5 to 10 minutes is fine) answering the following questions:
Tell us a little bit about yourself. Who are you, what matters to you, and what are you looking for at this stage of your career?
How long have you been practicing, and what does your current caseload look like?
Is your current practice agreeable with you bringing your clients with you if you transition?
What insurance do most of your clients use? (We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, and Priority Health only.)
What populations or clinical areas do you most enjoy working with?
What draws you to a practice like Michigan Wellbeing?
Not sure how to record? You can use your smartphone camera, your computer's built-in camera, or a free tool like Loom (loom.com) which generates a shareable link. If the file is too large to email, you can upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us.
Why a video? As a small team, we are not able to schedule initial interviews with every applicant. A short video introduction allows us to get a sense of who you are and how you communicate, and it gives you a chance to share more about yourself than a resume alone can capture. We review every video we receive, and based on your submission, we may reach out to schedule a follow-up interview.
Send your recording to info@miwellbeing.org along with:
Your resume or CV
The name and contact information of one professional reference
A cover letter is welcome but not required.
Diversity and Inclusion
We strongly encourage applications from BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, and multilingual clinicians. We believe diverse lived experience strengthens clinical insight and enhances the care we provide.
