Millwright – Gila Bend Mill
Sofidel America – Gila Bend, AZ is seeking a skilled Millwright to join our maintenance team at our Gila Bend manufacturing facility. This role provides hands-on mechanical expertise to support the reliability, efficiency, and performance of mill and converting equipment. The Millwright plays a critical role in maintaining safe operations, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives at the site.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems and production equipment throughout the mill
Diagnose root causes of mechanical failures using appropriate tools and techniques
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, motors, bearings, rollers, and other rotating equipment
Align, level, and balance machinery and components to ensure optimal performance
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and manuals
Support equipment changeovers, rebuilds, and upgrades
Assist with installation and commissioning of new or modified equipment
Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and external contractors to resolve equipment issues efficiently
Document maintenance work and update mechanical documentation as needed
Support site projects and continuous improvement efforts
Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and good manufacturing practices
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Ability to work a rotating shift schedule
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience preferred
Minimum of three years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment
Experience with conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, and drive systems
Welding, fabrication, and machining experience preferred
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
