About Uniting:

When you’re part of Uniting NSW.ACT, you’re part of a diverse, purpose-led team of people who are really making a difference to the world around them.

We contribute to the work and mission of the Uniting Church in NSW and the ACT through social justice advocacy, community services and spiritual care. We provide care and support for people through all ages and stages of life, with a focus on people experiencing disadvantage and vulnerability. Our purpose is to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice.

Uniting leaders and employees work together to create a culture that is safe, inclusive and person-centred. We bring this to life every day through our values: compassionate, respectful, imaginative and bold.

Uniting acknowledges the continuing sovereignty and rich cultural diversity of Australia’s First Peoples. We pay our respects to all Elders - past, present, and emerging - and to all First Peoples on whose lands we live and work.

Uniting is a Child Safe Organisation committed to promoting the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of children and young people.

About the opportunity:

As an MST-CAN Therapist, you’ll deliver therapy using the groundbreaking Multisystemic Therapy for Child Abuse and Neglect (MST-CAN) model. This evidence-based, community-focused approach works directly with families of children aged 0-17 who are experiencing the devastating impacts of physical abuse or neglect.

Provide in-home therapy that is culturally inclusive and tailored to each family’s unique needs.
Work closely with families, helping them overcome barriers and build safe, nurturing environments.
Collaborate with key stakeholders, including child protection agencies, to ensure sustainable, positive outcomes.
Be part of a dedicated team that offers 24/7 support on a rotational basis, ensuring families always feel supported.
Your Qualifications & Experience

A Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a related field (or a Bachelor’s degree with AHPRA registration).
Expertise in family systems, cognitive-behavioural therapy, and child protection.
A deep understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable families, including Aboriginal and culturally diverse communities.
Ability to be involved in the on-call roster (1 week every 5 weeks) allowances included.
The flexibility to work outside traditional hours and the resilience to handle complex situations. Clients are based in Coffs Harbour and Kempsey.
A valid driver’s license and the willingness to transport families as needed. Company pool vehicle provided.
