Job Description
The National Director Nursing Education, Australian College of Nursing (ACN) is responsible for providing academic leadership and operational management of the Education Division. This role involves implementing the strategic direction for educational services of ACN, focusing on the growth and development of its flagship graduate certificate and continuous professional development programs.
The National Director Nursing Education will collaborate closely with the existing leadership team across ACN to enhance teaching, research, and professional activities.
A commitment to innovation and diversity is essential. The National Director Nursing Education will oversee curriculum development, while progressing the scholarship and research opportunities within ACN.
This role will advance ACN’s strategic direction in fostering growth and innovation within the nursing profession by strengthening ACN programs and expanding research and scholarship in learning opportunities, including promoting a positive, accountable, and performance culture aligned to ACN's Strategic Direction, while embedding ACN's core values.
The individual will have a track record of strong industry partnerships nationally and internationally. The ability to build educational and research pathways is essential.
The incumbent is anticipated to qualify for recognition as an Associate Professor at an Affiliate University.

Selection Criteria
Essential:
Completion of a PhD or EdD or equivalent qualification in a relevant field and recognition of academic standing at a national or international level in nursing.
Registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Nurse.
Hold and maintain a current membership with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Demonstrated evidence of a distinguished and active track record of teaching expertise in nursing at a tertiary level.
Evidence of outstanding educational leadership relevant to teaching and learning in higher education and demonstrated experience leading innovation and inspiring excellence among colleagues.
Demonstrated leadership of educational strategy at a program level with national and international expertise.
Demonstrated understanding and experience of curriculum reviews and internal and external accreditation activities.
A demonstrated strong track record of establishing effective research collaborations with external national and international partners, specifically clinical, community, and industry stakeholders.
Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including documented evidence of developing, establishing, and maintaining effective relationships with staff, students, and industry.
Experience in coordinating and/or leading and mentoring the activities of other staff.
Demonstrate a commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture and role-modelling behaviours that support the ACN Values, Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), and enhancing educational opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Active involvement in professional organisations and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Desirable:
Experience in development of international and short course teaching delivery or collaboration
