Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and/or its equivalent required
Minimum 3-5 years of related experience
Incident Tracking Systems
Micro Segmentation Zero Trust Platform
Illumio or equivalent
IP routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
Advanced working knowledge of DNS/DHCP
Large-scale enterprise-grade WLAN support and testing
Cisco IOS
Experienced at implementing and troubleshooting Access Control Lists (ACLs)
VoIP/Unified Communications knowledge
Disaster recovery planning and testing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated excellence in a variety of competencies, including teamwork/collaboration, analytical thinking, communication, and technical expertise
Ability to work with changing priorities and with multiple tasks
Ability to be precise and attentive to detail
Ability to work unsupervised
Works a shift that allows for coverage in the NOC by an experienced staff member who can serve as an escalation point outside normal business hours
Python and Ansible
Experience configuring, testing, and supporting:
Infoblox DNS and DHCP services
Aruba Enterprise WLAN systems
Benefits
Salary Range: $80,000 - $87,500
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training
The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting
Responsibilities
Hours Per Week: 35
Reporting to the Director of Network Operations, the Network Operations Technician is responsible for the technical support of CUIT Networks, troubleshooting of advanced network issues, and implementation of infrastructure and services
The hours for this role are 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, Thursday to Sunday
Supports technical activities in support and delivery of services provided by the Network Operations team
Collaborates with other Network teams in the testing of new network technologies
Reviews plans for all network-related implementations and upgrades
Provides network support services for converged-infrastructure implementation(s)
Documents design, operational procedures, and standards for moderately complex and/or business-critical network operations
Writes technical documentation for operational use
Communicate with clients concerning scheduled equipment maintenance and availability
Collaborates with the Network Groups on the implementation and configuration of campus-wide monitoring systems
Drafts and presents change requests to the Change Advisory Board
Conducts advanced troubleshooting and writes relevant documentation
Participates in Network Operations support for Disaster Recovery exercises and planning, testing connectivity to and from the DR sites
Supports Data Center technologies, including server and storage environments
Manages configurations of WAN, Core, and Distribution routers
Handles and resolves high-level issues affecting network connectivity for customers and affiliates
Must participate in a periodic, 24x7 on-call rotation
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
• Cisco Network Certification or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with the ITIL Foundation Framework.
• Proficiency with Linux CLI/Command Set.
• Service Now IT Incident Management/Change Management or equivalent.
• Automation and scripting. Python and Ansible.
• Experience configuring, testing, and supporting:
• Infoblox DNS and DHCP services
• Aruba Enterprise WLAN systems
• Cisco ASA Firewalls/VPN
