About the Position:
Our client, a global leader in industrial automation solutions, is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join its legal team in the western suburbs of Chicago. This is a broad, business-facing generalist role with a focus on commercial transactions, M&A, and employment law. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to provide strategic legal guidance that supports ongoing growth.

Responsibilities:
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer, vendor, supply, distribution, and service contracts
• Support M&A transactions, including due diligence, deal structuring, and transaction documentation
• Oversee pre-litigation disputes and manage outside counsel on active litigation matters
• Advise on employment law matters, including policies, compliance, and workplace issues
• Provide day-to-day legal counsel on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, IP, data privacy, and risk management
• Partner with internal teams across sales, operations, HR, and finance to identify risks and develop practical solutions
• Assist with development of contract templates, playbooks, and internal legal processes
• Manage relationships with outside counsel, including scope, budget, and deliverables
Required Qualifications:
• 5-7 years of transactional experience (law firm and/or in-house)
• Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
• Working knowledge of M&A transactions and processes
• Familiarity with employment law and related compliance matters
Location:
Western Chicago suburbs, IL (Hybrid)
Compensation:
The anticipated base salary for this position is $165,000 – $190,000.
