Title: Non-Profit Accountant
Reports to: Fiscal Director
Classification: Full-Time
Direct Reports: None
Exempt Status: Non-Exempt
Department: Fiscal
Community Action Agency of Greater Kansas City is a nonprofit organization providing programs and services to low-income residents of Jackson, Platte and Clay counties, Missouri.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field (significant experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree).
• Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles and understanding of accounting principles
• Two (2) year's of experience providing accounting support to a department
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft programs
• Experience with working in multiple software programs simultaneously to complete program requirements
Essential Job Functions:
• Perform assigned accounting functions for multiple programs
• Prepare invoices, reimbursement requests, and reports to funding sources
• Compile financial data for internal and external reports
• Examine statements/invoices to ensure accuracy
• Maintain confidentiality of information
• Effectively and professionally communication with clients, vendors and coworkers
• Work independently and/or in a team setting and adhere to deadlines
• Adjust to frequent changes in duties and procedures
• Be nonjudgmental and objective in working with clients, vendors and coworkers
• Work effectively and efficiently in highly stressful situations
• Time management skills to ensure that reports are completed and payments are received on time
• Multitasking ability to work on multiple tasks throughout the day
• Any other duties as assigned

Lifting - 5% ability to lift at least 25 lbs. or less
