Key Responsibilities:
1. General Ledger and Month-End Close:
- Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for accounts such as Cash and Investments, T&E Expense, Intercompany, Prepaids, Capitalized Software, Fixed Assets, and Expense Accruals.
- Conduct Balance Sheet and P&L fluctuation analyses, investigating variances to ensure accuracy.
- Perform various GL month-end close activities to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
Financial Reporting and Audit Support:
- Assist in preparing internal and external financial reporting schedules.
- Collaborate with external auditors to address inquiries and provide support for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Support the creation of ad hoc reports as needed by management or auditors.
Process Improvement and Compliance:
- Evaluate and improve current accounting processes and system infrastructure to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls over accounting processes and systems to ensure SOX compliance.
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to support organizational growth.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Provide timely responses and financial insights to finance and non-finance business partners.
- Build strong working relationships across departments and offer relevant reporting to aid decision-making.
Ad Hoc Projects:
- Handle special accounting projects and provide support for various departmental initiatives as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Background:
- Master's degree is a plus
- CPA certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
Experience:
- 6-10 years of combined experience in public accounting (e. , Big 4) and private industry within a publicly traded company.
- Solid working knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX/internal controls.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Familiarity with Compensation Accounting is a plus.
