Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Remote Accountant to join our team. This role is perfect for a professional who is looking for a flexible work environment and is proficient in accounting functions, including managing financial records, preparing statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations. The position is ideal for Malaysian candidates who are looking to work from the comfort of their home while contributing to a fast-growing company.
Key Responsibilities
• * Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger entries.
• * Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
• * Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and general accounts monthly.
• * Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets.
• * Perform regular internal audits to identify discrepancies and improve financial processes.
• * Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
• * Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax returns and other regulatory filings.
• * Maintain records of all financial transactions in accordance with the companys policies and standards.
• * Assist with payroll processing and related queries.
• * Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and practices to ensure compliance.
• Required Skills and Qualifications
• * Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• * Proven experience (2+ years) in accounting or finance-related roles, preferably in a remote capacity.
• * Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar tools).
• * Strong understanding of Malaysian financial regulations and tax laws.
• * Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• * Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• * Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment.
• Experience
• * Minimum of 2 years in a similar accounting role with hands-on experience in bookkeeping, financial analysis, and reporting.
• * Experience with cloud-based accounting software and remote working setups.
• * Previous experience in Malaysian tax preparation and compliance is highly desirable.
• Working Hours
• * Flexible working hours, with an expectation of 40 hours per week.
• * Must be available to communicate during regular business hours in Malaysia (9 AM to 6 PM GMT+8).
• * Occasional meetings may be scheduled depending on the business requirements.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• * In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• * Familiarity with Malaysian tax laws, GST, and other compliance regulations.
• * Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• * Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
• * Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive financial data securely.
• * Familiarity with digital collaboration tools such as Slack, Zoom, and Google Workspace.
