We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Online Tutor to support two 14 year-old students in Maths as they prepare to take their GCSEs early in Year 10. The sessions will take place 1-2-1 not together.
The tutor will provide engaging, structured, and tailored lessons to ensure a strong foundation in key subjects while fostering confidence and academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and interactive online lessons in Maths
Assess the students’ current academic levels and tailor lessons accordingly.
Develop a structured learning plan aligned with the GCSE curriculum to prepare them for early exams.
Provide exam-focused guidance, including problem-solving techniques, essay writing skills, and scientific reasoning.
Assign and review practice work to reinforce learning and monitor progress.
Offer constructive feedback and communicate progress with parents.
Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities.
Utilise online teaching tools effectively to enhance student engagement.
Requirements:
Qualified teacher or experienced tutor with expertise in Maths at gcse level.
Strong knowledge of the UK GCSE curriculum.
Proven experience in tutoring students aged 12-16 (preferably for GCSE preparation).
Ability to develop personalised learning plans and keep students motivated.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Access to a stable internet connection, a laptop/computer, and online teaching tools (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.).
A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) for safeguarding purposes.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in accelerated learning for early exam entry.
Familiarity with GCSE exam techniques and past paper practice.
Ability to make lessons engaging and interactive using technology and visual aids.
Patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for teaching young learners.
