About the Role
Metric Bio are partnering with a global peptide CDMO based in the LA area on a search for an Operational Excellence Manager to drive continuous improvement across a highly regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
This role will lead site-wide transformation initiatives, leveraging Lean Six Sigma methodologies and internal production systems to improve performance, reduce cost, and enhance productivity.
You will play a key role in embedding a culture of continuous improvement while aligning local operations with global standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and execute site-wide operational excellence initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives
• Drive Lean transformation, embedding continuous improvement methodologies and flow principles across the organization
• Identify and deliver process improvement projects focused on reducing lead times, improving productivity, and lowering operational costs
• Conduct site diagnostics and data analysis to identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions
• Optimize resource utilization, inventory management, and production scheduling
• Lead Gemba walks, Kaizen events, and visual management initiatives to streamline operations
• Coach and mentor teams on Lean Six Sigma principles, fostering a sustainable culture of continuous improvement
• Partner cross-functionally to ensure improvements are aligned with business goals and global operational standards
• Collaborate closely with senior leadership to drive long-term operational excellence strategy
Requirements
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in Operational Excellence, Lean, or Continuous Improvement, ideally within pharma, biotech, or medical device environments
Technical Skills
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (or equivalent experience)
• Strong experience with Kaizen, TPM/TPS, and continuous improvement systems
• Proven ability to implement operational excellence frameworks at scale
