Primary objective
Provide timely, accurate and quality administration and financial support to the Youth Justice Division including coordinating
purchases within detention centres in line with policies and procedures.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Sourcing and ordering goods approved for purchase, including management of stock levels for consumables within the
detention centres.
2. Safely transport and distribute items up to 15kg throughout the centre often involving walking short distances within the
worksite.
3. Responsible for processing invoices in Northern Territory Government (NTG) Pay system in accordance with NTG
financial policies.
4. Prepare reconciliations of invoices to contract agreements with suppliers and where discrepancies arise, engage with the
supplier to have the issues rectified.
5. Prepare basic monthly reporting on purchasing, processing, and stock levels.
6. Undertake research and project work, as required, with a commitment to achieving quality outcomes.
7. Maintain a corporate credit card and acquit in a timely manner in accordance with Government policies.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Experience processing invoices for payment or similar transactions and purchase orders with a high degree of accuracy.
2. Experience in a warehousing environment or similar including, experience maintaining stock levels, processing orders,
picking and sending orders.
3. Demonstrated ability to manage time and resources effectively, to meet deadlines and to achieve results in a dynamic
environment of changing priorities and expectations with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
4. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, proactively manage financial transactions and purchase orders,
and uphold strong professional ethics.
5. Experienced in maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information and acting with discretion.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills, across a broad and varied stakeholder group, including the ability to
interact effectively with people from diverse cultures and build and sustain relationships in a complex environment.
Desirable
1. Certificate III or IV in Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
