The team
The Client Relations Operations Team is part of Sustainalytics’ Global Client Relations function. The team empowers investors to make more sustainable decisions by leveraging Sustainalytics’ research products and services to make more eco-friendly and value-based decisions. The CR team works alongside a diverse range of asset owners, asset managers, and global banks, representing many of the leading financial institutions around the world. The Client Relations Operations Team of Sustainalytics is looking for a Sales Operations Associate to support the Business Development team with administration, system, and sales process responsibilities. This position would allow you to quickly learn about key concepts related to ESG investing, our sales process, and internal systems.
In this position you will gain exposure to an international team, work closely with key stakeholders to resolve any incidents impacting clients use of data or research. This position allows you to obtain a thorough understanding of how investors can implement ESG, work in an entrepreneurial and cross-cultural environment, quickly assume new responsibilities/challenges, and become a company representative with both internal/external stakeholders/clients.

How You Will Have an Impact
• Support the Client Relations team globally, developing and enhancing operational ESG solutions for asset owners, asset managers banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions.
• Collaborate with multiple teams across the business, from Products and Research, to Delivery team and Compliance and Systems Development, to support Client Relations in growing and maintaining a robust sales pipeline.
• Act as the engine of our sales team, enabling smooth administration of the sales process.
• Respond quickly to client queries to resolve problems and maintain and/or improve client retention/satisfaction, including content and delivery.
• Developing deep knowledge of products and services to support sales colleagues in their client conversations, including supporting clients through research trials, conducting demonstrations, and troubleshooting system related queries.
• Refining and developing systems, reporting functionality and online tools to enhance and streamline Sales team operations.
• Stay on top of key ESG market developments and share knowledge of product innovation opportunities with the global team.
• Support clients in accessing and understanding Sustainalytics’ suite of research products and ESG data to incorporate into their investment processes.
What You Need to Succeed
• 2+ years of relevant work experience, related to client services and commercial skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (business, administration, finance, environment and/or social sciences).
• Entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to take new initiatives, think proactively/creatively, while having a track record of working with clients and supporting sales processes.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills used to understand and process client inquiries efficiently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Keen interest in sustainability, ESG, and/or prior work in financial markets is considered an asset.
