Dental Therapist or Oral Health Therapist for a 12-Month Fixed Term Role at Lakes Rotorua Hospital
About the Role
The Community Oral Health Service is seeking a motivated and passionate Dental Therapist or Oral Health Therapist to join our team in Rotorua.
This is a fixed term 12-month position to cover parental leave from January to December 2026.
We require a registered Oral Health Therapist or Dental Therapist with sound clinical, administration and communication skills as well as a strong team commitment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide professional oral health care to children and their families
Provide dental health education across different age groups
Work with community groups to improve oral health wellbeing for children

We are looking for someone with:
Bachelor of Oral Health or equivalent qualification
Registration with the Dental Council of New Zealand
Excellent sterilisation and infection control skills
Empathy and compassion when working with children and their families
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A helpful, flexible, positive and adaptable disposition
Experience working with diverse groups of all ages and stages
