Criteria
● Proficient in the use of Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, Dext, Outlook and Excel.
● Must have knowledge of double entry, VAT and UK tax laws.
● Must have good communication skills to deal with clients and be a team player.
● Must be able to work independently – there is support available from Accountants and Client Manager.
● Be confident to speak with clients in person or virtually.
Experience
● Min 2 years’ experience in the same/similar role.
● Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice is preferred.
Audit experience preferred.
Qualification status
● Qualified by experience (QBE)
● AAT part of fully qualified
● Bookkeeping qualification
Main duties will include:
● Manage and interact with your own portfolio of clients to ensure monthly bookkeeping is done to high standards.
● General daily bookkeeping tasks i.e., maintaining a detailed sales ledger, preparing supplier payment runs, bank/credit card reconciliation.
● Ensuring items are processed correctly into the client's books.
● Monthly/quarterly management reports preparation and preparing VAT returns.
● Responding and actioning emails in a timely and efficient manner.
● Supporting clients in their journey to making tax digital.
● Supporting practice and senior accountants with year-end accounts and tax return preparation for sole traders, partnerships, LLP and Limited companies.
● Support team with administration duties.
