Responsibilities
The Patent Agent will be responsible for preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the life sciences field, including but not limited to, cell biology, molecular biology, developmental biology, immunology, genetics, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, and chemistry
Prepare and draft patent applications and responses to office actions from the USPTO
Conduct comprehensive searches for scientific articles, patents, and patent application documents relevant to the assessment of novelty, patentability, and freedom-to-operate
Collaborate with scientists to understand, capture, and articulate their inventions and develop robust patent strategies
Provide strategic advice to the business on intellectual property matters including patentability, validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate
Review and analyze complex scientific literature in the fields of cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, genetics, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, and chemistry
Keep up-to-date with legal developments in the intellectual property field, and advising clients accordingly
Collaborate with attorneys to develop and manage a patent portfolio strategy for clients, including conducting portfolio reviews and competitor surveillance

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Patent Agent to join our legal team. This individual will play a key role in safeguarding our company's intellectual property rights. The Patent Agent will be responsible for preparing and prosecuting patent applications in the life sciences field, including but not limited to, cell biology, molecular biology, developmental biology, immunology, genetics, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, and chemistry. The successful candidate will have a strong scientific and technical background, excellent drafting skills, and a thorough understanding of USPTO procedures.

Responsibilities
