Job Description: Patent Attorney
Experience: 1 to 3 years in patent search, drafting, and prosecution, including preparing forms and filing in Singapore.
Qualification: The candidate must possess a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Biotech. Having a law degree or postgraduate degree is desirable but not necessary.
A Registered Patent Agent or Patent Attorney qualification in Singapore is a must.
• Conduct various types of patent searches using paid and free databases.
• Drafting patent specifications independently, without much guidance.
• Drafting and handling examination reports, replies, and patent prosecution in Singapore, where proficiency in PCT and foreign languages would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of design filing and prosecution in Singapore would be an added advantage.
• Participate in patent hearings and opposition proceedings, and offer technical assistance by conducting research and analyzing recent patent cases.
• Working knowledge of trade marks and being a registered trade mark agent in Singapore will be an added advantage.
• Strong command in verbal and written English.
