Downer are proudly supporting a range of exciting projects across New Plymouth. The Downer Central division is highly respected and has a great track record for delivering a high standard of work across the country. We are looking for an experienced or up-and-coming Patrol Person and we’re happy to look at candidates in New Plymouth through to Hawera.
Responsibilities
This role supports the region on smaller maintenance initiatives and urgent repair work across the network. You will be responsible for patrolling designated roads and conducting routine and emergency maintenance to ensure the safety of the public. Your day to day tasks will include:
Pothole repairs of both sealed and unsealed roads
Sign maintenance and repairs
Cleaning and maintaining culvert inlets and outlets as well as roadside furniture

You will be a physically fit and motivated person and will bring with you:
A Class 2 licence (preferred)
The ability to identify and rate faults
Confidence in decision-making and problem-solving
Availability to respond to after-hours call-outs when rostered
