Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist and HR Coordinator to join our dynamic team. The Human Resources Payroll Specialist is responsible for administering payroll and benefits processes with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and organizational policies. This role supports various HR functions including employee programs, HRIS management, onboarding, and reporting. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, excel in data accuracy, and bring strong proficiency in Excel formulas (must pass Excel assessment at 85% or higher).
Key Responsibilities: Payroll Administration
Accurately calculate and process payroll in accordance with internal schedules and legal requirements.
Review payroll inputs for compliance and accuracy (e.g., new hires, salary changes, separations).
Process garnishments, child support orders, and other wage assignments.
Serve as a subject matter expert on payroll policies and practices.
Benefits & Employee Program Management
Administer paid time off and leave of absence programs.
Maintain employee benefit records and manage enrollments and terminations.
Coordinate tuition reimbursement and service award programs.
HRIS and Reporting
Maintain and audit data within the HRIS system (currently using Paycom, transitioning to SuccessFactors).
Generate and manage reports such as EEO-1, headcount, turnover, and compliance reports.
Perform regular audits to ensure data integrity across systems.
Onboarding & Employee Support
Facilitate new hire onboarding and benefits orientation sessions.
Support background check processing and internal employee transfers.
Communicate benefits information through emails, memos, and newsletters.
Additional Duties
Support policy development and HR initiatives.
Participate in HR events, such as lunch-and-learns and team-building activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Human Resources; manufacturing experience not required.
Excel Skills: Must pass an Excel assessment (formulas-focused) with a score of 85% or higher.
HRIS Experience: Familiarity with HRIS systems (Paycom experience preferred; SuccessFactors transition experience a plus).
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
