Job description
This is a full-time on-site role located in San Juan Capistrano, CA, for a Software Engineer,Perception. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing algorithms and models to understand 3D scenes from LiDAR data. This includes developing and testing new algorithms and making improvements to existing ones. The person will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand customer needs, develop customized solutions, and implement innovations and enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and optimize algorithms for real-time 3D object detection, classification, and tracking using LiDAR data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into our products and services.
• Containerize perception modules for robust deployment across environments.
• Research and evaluate state-of-the-art methods for improving accuracy and efficiency of 3D object detection and tracking.
• Contribute to the overall strategy and direction of our AI initiatives.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
• Solid understanding of 3D geometry, LiDAR data processing, and linear algebra.
• Deep understanding of fundamental detection and tracking algorithms (e.g., DBSCAN Clustering, Kalman Filter)
• Hands-on experience with libraries like Open3D, PCL.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with 3D deep learning models for point cloud data.
• Masters' degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
• Knowledge of Multi Processing or CUDA Programming.
• Understanding of cloud services provided by GCP.
• Experience with containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and deploying software in real-world environments.
