About the Opportunity
Reporting to the City Activation Manager, the Place and Culture Lead is responsible for contributing to the delivery of the City of Palmerston Community Plan through the following:
Develop and implement creative programs for community engagement.
Actively contribute to policy development, support the implementation and delivery of the Creative Industries Strategy and the Palmerston Local Economic Plan.
Foster collaboration with stakeholders to maximise creative opportunities.
Apply best practices in creative industries and placemaking.
Budget management with expert advice to ensure an integrated approach to the planning, commissioning and management of public art and other special projects
Promote local arts and culture, support arts participation, and enhance creative industry profiles.
About You
To be successful in the role, you must have:
A tertiary qualification in arts and cultural development, or equivalent with substantial relevant experience in community arts role
Well-developed cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity to work effectively at both operational and policy levels.
Significant experience in working in a large, multifaceted organisation with diverse stakeholders.
A proven ability to think strategically, develop creative solutions, and achieve outcomes.
Sound knowledge of best and innovative practices in creative industries and place-making.
Highly developed both written and verbal communication skills.
Sound knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of strategies.
Extensive experience with project management, including project planning and scoping, research, analysis and implementation.
Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining industry partnerships and networks
Experience in financial management including budget preparation and monitoring.
Demonstrated success with initiating and managing arts and cultural development projects.
