About the Opportunity

As part of the Regulatory Services Program the Planner, Development Assessment will contribute to the facilitation of high-quality development outcomes in the City of Adelaide. The position involves the timely assessment development applications that are moderately complex in accordance with relevant legislations, the Planning and Design Code and various other policies.


In this exciting and diverse role, some of the things you will see yourself doing include:

Undertaking planning assessment of development applications.
Assessing moderately complex development applications under delegation.
Mentoring junior members of the team including assisting with the interpretation of policy and legislation, attending the ERD Court and reviewing written documents.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

A tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning or related field and/or commensurate demonstrated experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
Relevant experience in planning assessment and demonstrated ability to assess and analyse highly complex planning matters and determine solutions.
Experience in negotiating outcomes on applications and liquor licence proposals.
Highly developed customer service skills, including ability to liaise effectively and build cooperative relationships with internal and external customers.
