Operations Manager - Construction, Refurbishment & Fit-Out Salary: £100,000+ + Generous Package & Benefits Location: Romford, Essex (Office Based) Start: Interviewing Now for May/June 2026 Start
Atkinson Baker Associates have been retained to recruit a high-calibre Operations Manager for a market-leading Multi-Disciplinary Main Contractor .
We are looking for a technically minded leader to head up the Commercial & Leisure Division . Based out of their modern HQ in Romford , you will manage a team of Contract Managers and oversee a diverse portfolio ranging from New Build construction to complex Cut & Carve refurbishment and Fit-Out .
This is a highly established business with a reputation for delivering complex schemes. They pride themselves on a vibrant, collaborative office culture and are looking for a senior manager who has the capacity to lead from the front while fostering a positive environment.
We need a manager who understands the full construction lifecycle—someone comfortable managing a project from groundworks and steel frame through to high-spec internal delivery.
Tender Stage: Specific input into bid strategies, logistics planning, construction methodology (New Build & Refurb), and programme validation to win work.
Construction Phase: Managing your team of Contract Managers, monitoring P&L performance, ensuring H&S compliance, and troubleshooting technical issues on site.
Handover: Driving the team to deliver snag-free completion, overseeing O&Ms, and ensuring client satisfaction to secure repeat business.
Proven experience as an Operations Manager (or a Senior Contracts Manager ready to step up) with a hybrid background in New Build Construction AND Refurbishment/Fit-Out .
Strong commercial acumen and experience managing multiple Contract Managers.
Based within a commutable distance to Romford (this is an office-based strategic role).
Salary: £100,000+ (Negotiable based on experience).
