We have an exciting opportunity for a Population Health Analyst to work for a not-for-profit organisation who work in the Health and Community Services sector in Sydney. This would be a varied role, mainly tasked with looking at performance management and the monitoring and evaluation of programs and initiatives to see how effective they have been.

Full Time, permanent position

Salary from $+5-105k plus super, plus salary packaging benefits
Opportunity to work from home / hybrid work arrangements (up to 4 days per week from home)
Office based in Chatswood
About the organisation:
This organisation works closely with local health districts, service providers, health professionals and government departments to ensure that services are being provided efficiently and effectively. As such, data analysis is a crucial component of their work. They also fund and commission services, and part of this role would be to assess how these programs / services are performing against various metrics.
Duties
Analyse, visualise and report on a variety of population health data sources (e.g. primary health care datasets, program monitoring data, linked data etc) to help inform policy, strategy, program redesign or evaluation.
Responsible for transforming large datasets into meaningful information which can inform planning and decision making
Oversee data collection and processes by which to interrogate the data to inform regional and program specific needs assessments and external funding proposals
Interpret a range of data collection methodologies including demographic, epidemiological, health services activities and utilisation, health economic data, research and modelling projections
Work with project teams to support improvements in data collection methods
Support other teams and junior team members, including providing training and insight
Lead the development of population and health status profiles
Assessing health and health service needs of the population and reporting on the performance of programs
Maintain a collaborative approach within the organisation as well as with external stakeholders
Requirements:
Tertiary qualifications in public health, population health, business analytics, health sciences or equivalent.
Knowledge of scripting languages including but not limited to SQL and PowerBi (training can be provided if needed)
Previous experience in Health / Population Health data analysis
Someone with previous experience in conducting evaluation and performance monitoring
Previous research experience would also be beneficial
