Are you someone passionate about finance, with a keen eye for details and a knack for numbers? Do you get a thrill from managing assets, analyzing financial statements, and ensuring accuracy in accounting? If so, we have a great opportunity for you! We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Permanent Portfolio Accountant for our accounting team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where new ideas are encouraged and collaboration is a must. This is a hybrid role that combines the responsibilities of a Portfolio Accountant with the strategic and analytical aspects of sales.
Responsibilities
As a Permanent Portfolio Accountant, you will be responsible for a wide range of activities including, but not limited to
• Managing and maintaining our fixed assets register, including calculating and recording monthly depreciation.
• Performing monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, ensuring all items are properly accounted for and documented.
• Preparing and posting monthly journal entries, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
• Analyzing variances in financial performance against budget, prior periods, and forecasts.
• Interacting with tenants, ensuring all financial obligations are met and resolving any issues that may arise.
• Participating in the month-end close process, ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Assisting with special projects as needed, including process improvements, systems implementations, and other initiatives.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the sales industry.
• A strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, specifically related to fixed assets, depreciation, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
• Experience with month-end close processes and journal entries.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify and explain variances in financial performance.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with tenants and other stakeholders.
• A high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
• The ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, and experience with accounting software.
