About the Financial Services Banking Team

Forvis Mazars offers a world-class audit experience with deep knowledge of the banking sector. If you join Financial Services Banking, you will be part of a brilliant team that delivers vital services to our clients. You will build your knowledge and understanding of the financial services banking market, by working on a broad range of client engagements. Our clients consist of overseas banks and UK challenger banks. These cover a range of banking activity such as retail banking, commercial banking, private banking (including wealth management), merchant banking, and investment banking. We also work with building societies, leasing, asset backed lending, payment service providers, and security brokers.

About the role

As a graduate trainee here's what will await you during your three-year training contract:

Year 1:
• Master the art of auditing: Learn to prepare meticulous audit documents using the latest software and methodologies, a key part of this is:
• Financial statements: Develop a deep understanding of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows.
• Work side by side with clients: Be immersed into the business world by working directly with a variety of diverse companies. You will need to understand their operations, challenges, and unique circumstances.
• Build relationships: Connect with key stakeholders both with our clients but also internally in your team and across service lines. You will be expected to gather relevant information and build strong professional relationships.

Years 2 and 3:

As you progress, you'll take on increasingly complex audit work, such as; revenue recognition, valuation, and risk assessments. You'll also take ownership of audit engagements by taking a leading role in their delivery. You'll mentor new and more junior team members, helping them to settle in and flourish. You're joining us as a permanent employee, so the 3 years is only the beginning of your exceptional career journey at Forvis Mazars.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Private Banking Manager to join the Southend on Sea branch.You will be responsible for the maintenance and development of a customer portfolio. You will be responsible for the winning and on-boarding of new customers via proactive and focused business development activities.You will have full responsibility for all aspects of customer relationships within the portfolio (excluding Regulated Mortgage activity) including preparation of credit applications, customer analysis, annual reviews, documentation completion, covenant compliance and profitability.Main Responsibilities Responsible for the maintenance and development of a portfolio of private banking customers. Building relationships with customers and ensuring customer satisfaction through the provision of excellent customer service.Identifying, meeting and winning prospective new customers/introducers by outlining how we work and what we can offer in terms of service and facilities.Demonstrating a sound understanding of, and an ability to work within the Bank's Credit Policy, ensuring lending decisions are within the lending discretion awarded by the Branch Manager.The ability to interpret financial information provided by customers, evaluate lending propositions, assess & formulate risk ratings correctly and structure transactions.Using the appropriate Bank systems to complete Credit applications and annual reviews.To develop and maintain a sound understanding of the local market, and to maintain relationships with professional firms and introducers.A demonstrable understanding of the products offered by Handelsbanken and a good understanding of competitor products, relevant industry and market driven trends.General administration, preparation of legal documentation for accounts, personal loans and mortgages, maintaining customer’s files (including CDD/AIdeal CandidateResearch (by Harvard University) shows that women are particularly likely to second guess themselves and not apply - so if you are worried you don't meet all the criteria, get in touch anyhow and let us do the worrying…Excellent customer service skillsGood understanding of the Bank’s credit processes and personal customer product offeringAttention to detail and a methodical approach.
