Job Description
We are seeking a passionate Pro Bono Lawyer or Paralegal to assist with legal matters impacting our clients and programs. Your work will help protect rights, navigate complex systems, and empower our community members with the information they need.
Key Responsibilities
Provide legal guidance within your area of expertise (e.g., family law, immigration, housing, nonprofit compliance, contracts)
Draft and review documents, letters, and forms
Assist with legal research to support advocacy and casework
Educate staff, volunteers, and clients about relevant laws and processes
Maintain confidentiality and follow ethical guidelines
Experience
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction is required.
Experience in specific areas of law such as workers' compensation law or project management is preferred.
Proficiency in legal software including PCLaw and iManage is advantageous.
Strong writing skills with experience in legal drafting and proofreading essential documents.
Previous experience in a law office setting or as a paralegal is beneficial.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
